Corporate reporting

The Gene Technology Regulator publishes a range of information to meet legislative requirements. View the OGTR annual reports, learn more about freedom of information requests and find out how we implement the Information Publication Scheme.

OGTR annual reports

The annual report details the operations of the Gene Technology Regulator as per the reporting requirements in section 136 (1A) of the Gene Technology Act 2000.

The report is prepared after the end of each financial year and given to the Minister and the relevant state and territory ministers.

Freedom of information (FOI) requests

Under the Freedom of Information Act 1982 (FOI Act), members of the public can request access to documents held by the Office of the Gene Technology Regulator.

The disclosure log

The FOI disclosure log details information released by the Gene Technology Regulator under the FOI Act that is available for public access.

How to submit an FOI request

Your request must be made in writing and:

  • state that the request is an application for the purposes of the FOI Act
  • provide enough information to clearly identify the documents being sought.

You can email or post your request to the Freedom of Information coordinator.

Fees and charges

There is no fee for making an FOI request.

If you are not seeking documents containing your own personal information, there may be a charge for processing a request. We will provide you with an estimate of the charges and will wait for your response before continuing.

In some circumstances, we may decide to remit, reduce or not impose processing charges.

For general information about the FOI process see the Office of the Australian Information Commissioner.

Information Publication Scheme

Under the Information Publication Scheme (IPS), we are required to publish a broad range of information, making it available for downloading where possible.

The IPS also requires that we publish an information publication plan. Our plan explains how we intend to implement the IPS.
